Eternally Regressing Knight

If you could live the same day over and over again every time you’re slain, would you rise to the challenge, knowing you’d feel the pain of death each time, or avoid it altogether to move forward? This is the struggle of our protagonist, Encrid.

Though he leads a band of wild and capable soldiers, Encrid knows his men possess far greater martial skill than he does. His dream of becoming a knight feels like a hopeless fantasy. Still, he pushes forward, hoping to one day earn their respect.

One day, his squad is deployed into a battle that seems unwinnable and that’s where Encrid meets his end… or so he thinks.

He wakes up the next morning before the battle, as if from a vivid nightmare. With a strange sense of déjà vu, he continues through the day. He fights, dies, and wakes up. Again… and again… and again.

Over time, Encrid realizes that, while he lacks natural talent, time itself is on his side. Each failure becomes a lesson. He studies, adapts, and trains with tireless determination, using every reset to sharpen his mind and body.

To everyone else, it’s just another day. To Encrid, it’s the same day lived hundreds of times.

And when the day finally comes that he bridges the gap between mediocrity and greatness, there can only be one answer.

That answer… is today.

Encrid

Encrid is the squad leader of a ragtag group of unruly misfits. Though he dreams of becoming a knight, he’s painfully aware of his limitations in combat. After discovering his strange ability to relive the same day upon death, he’s forced to choose between facing adversity head-on or using his knowledge to avoid it entirely. Each loop becomes a chance to grow—or to give up.

Rem

Rem is a muscular, ferocious fighter who relies on instinct and intuition to bring death to his enemies. Gifted with the Heart of the Beast, he enters combat with heightened focus and unwavering fearlessness. Rem doesn’t stick to one fighting style, instead using a chaotic, adaptive form that makes him wildly unpredictable. His weapon of choice is a brutal axe, which he wields with deadly precision and raw power.

Jaxon

Jaxon is the silent shadow of Encrid’s squad. Unlike his rowdy companions, he is quiet, calm, and calculating, with a sharp gaze that betrays nothing. A trained assassin, he excels in stealth and intelligence gathering. Whether wielding a sword or dagger, his strikes are swift and silent. Few see him coming, and even fewer survive to speak of it. Jaxon’s loyalty is quiet—but absolute.

Audin

Audin is a towering figure with a soft voice and a kind heart. Despite his gentle demeanor, his size and strength make him a walking force of destruction. He wields massive clubs effortlessly, crushing anything in his path. His strength is matched only by his loyalty to those he respects. While he may not speak often, his presence on the battlefield speaks volumes.

Shinar

Shinar is the 4th Company Commander and a proud fairy woman who radiates natural authority. With her piercing gaze and commanding presence, she easily earns the respect of allies and subordinates alike. Whispers of a deeper bond between her and Encrid circulate the camp. She dismisses the rumors with a smirk but whether it’s all just teasing or something more remains to be seen.
