(´｡• ω •｡`) ♡ It’s more than just a click. It’s you deciding to spend your time with us, and that means a whole lot. I’m just imagining you right now. You’re probably sitting in your room, with your phone or computer screen lighting up your face. Maybe you’re a cosplayer, looking for ideas for your next amazing costume. Or maybe you’re an artist, wanting a place to show off your drawings. Or maybe you’re a gamer, a fellow nerd just like me, who saw “Polyhedra and Pixels” and just knew you had to check it out! (≧ω≦) Whatever brought you here, I really hope you found what you were looking for. I hope you saw all the cool stuff we have planned for BACon Level 8!—the tabletop games on Polyhedra Day and the video game tournaments on Pixel Day! (o´▽o) I love both of them! I’m always inventing new gadgets, so the whole “Polyhedra and Pixels” thing is perfect for me. I’ve even been tinkering with my **SCHAXX** to make it better for tabletop games. (-ω-`) I’m super excited for the Cardboard & Creativity Contest! I can’t wait to see all the cool new games people have made. It’s like you get to see a little piece of their heart in the game. It’s so cool! ＼(≧▽≦)／ And on Pixel Day, I’ll be watching the Tekken tournaments! I’m not a pro, but it’s like watching a real-life anime fight! (ﾉ◕ヮ◕)ﾉ*:･ﾟ✧ It’s all part of our 8 Bit Hero’s Journey, you know? It’s going to be so much fun! We have quests like “Retro Gamer” and “Cosplay Spotter.” How awesome is that?! You get to level up and get prizes! It’s like we’re all in one giant video game together! I’m going to try to finish my quests, too! (⌒ω⌒) It’s all about making BACon a place where you’re not just watching, but you’re actually part of the adventure! We’re not just a convention, we’re a whole world waiting for you to explore! (っ˘ω˘ς ) I’m also really happy that we’re using this event to raise awareness about AIDS and STDs. It’s super important, especially for young people. We’ll have booths with information and people to talk to, but the most important thing is that we’re talking about it and helping people be safe and healthy. (´｡• ᵕ •｡) That’s a huge part of what makes me proud to be the mascot of this convention. ( ´ ▽ )ﾉ So please come join us in Balanga City on December 27 and 28 at Vista Mall! It’s going to be a blast, I promise you! We’ll have so many cool things happening, from special guests to workshops and contests. There’s something for everyone, whether you’ve been into anime for a long time or you’re just starting out. It’s a place where we can all come together and celebrate what we love. Discord Event: Crispy and Creepy Night!

Get ready for the Discord Event of October: Baconette’s Crispy and Creepy Night!

Listen to the creepiest and scariest stories in Bataan together with your host, BACon PH Resident Weeaboo and Expert Ghost Hunter Jurineru Daigorou. (We don’t believe in the “Expert Ghost Hunter” part, though! XD)

Clear your schedule on Saturday, October 25, 2025, from 7:00 PM onwards.

After the Crispy and Creepy Stories, we can chat and tell other stories in our BACon PH Discord Server.

Event Roles

This event is a vote system wherein you can rate the stories based on their Crispiness (Story Delivery) and Creepiness (Scare Factor). The contestant with the highest score wins!

Contest Mechanics

Event Title: Crispy and Creepy Night: A BACon Discord Scary Story Contest

I. Event Overview

“Crispy and Creepy Night” is an interactive online storytelling competition hosted on the official Bataan Anime Convention (BACon) Discord server. Participants will share scary stories live in a designated voice channel, and winners will be determined by a live audience vote based on two key metrics: “Crispiness” and “Creepiness.”

II. Contestant Eligibility

  1. All contestants must be members in good standing of the official BACon Discord Server.
  2. Prospective contestants are required to pre-register using the official Google Form, which will be here https://forms.gle/HiaLeJx3aEVah2py7
  3. Contestant slots are limited and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

III. Content & Performance Guidelines

  1. Story Content: Stories must be based on the contestant’s own factual, personal experience. Fictional narratives, creative retellings of folklore, or stories from non-personal sources are not permitted. The story must have happened to the contestant directly.
  2. Language: Stories may be delivered in English, Tagalog, or a combination of both (Taglish).
  3. Time Limitation: Each contestant will be allotted a minimum of five (5) minutes and a maximum of seven (7) minutes for their performance. A one-minute warning will be provided by the event host.
  4. Content Restrictions: All performances must adhere to a PG-13 rating. Content featuring excessive gore, hate speech, explicit material, or any subject matter that violates the Discord Terms of Service is strictly prohibited. The focus should be on suspense, atmosphere, and psychological horror.

IV. Judging and Scoring Procedure

  1. Judging Body: The winners will be determined by a collective vote from all non-competing participants (the “audience”) present in the Discord voice channel.
  2. Voting Mechanism: A standardized voting system (e.g., a dedicated poll-bot channel or an official Google Form scorecard) will be utilized for tabulation. This system will be announced by the host at the beginning of the event.
  3. Voting Period: A voting window of approximately 60-90 seconds will be opened immediately following the conclusion of each contestant’s performance.
  4. Scoring Criteria: All audience members will rate each contestant on two discrete scales from 1 (lowest) to 5 (highest):
    • A. Crispiness (Delivery): This score evaluates the technical quality and polish of the storyteller’s performance. This includes, but is not limited to, vocal clarity, pacing, intonation, emotional projection, and effective use of pauses.
    • B. Creepiness (Scary Factor): This score evaluates the story’s effectiveness as a piece of horror. This includes its ability to build suspense, create an unsettling atmosphere, induce fear, and the overall impact of the narrative.

V. Winner Determination

  1. Tabulation: Following the voting period for each contestant, all audience scores will be collected. The scores for both “Crispiness” and “Creepiness” will be averaged separately.
  2. Final Score: A contestant’s final score will be the sum of their average “Crispiness” score and their average “Creepiness” score. (Formula: Final Score = Average Crispiness + Average Creepiness)
  3. Placing: Contestants will be ranked based on their final combined score. The three (3) contestants with the highest final scores will be declared the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place winners.

VI. Prizes

Prizes will be awarded to the top three contestants as follows (to be disbursed via a designated platform):
