With eleven albums spanning two decades, One Ok Rock has solidified its place as a staple of Japanese rock music. Known for their fearless experimentation, the band has explored a wide range of genres, including alternative rock, post-hardcore, emo, and pop-punk.

The group began in 2005 when guitarist and leader Toru Yamashita invited his friend Kohama Ryota to form a band with their schoolmate Alexander Onizawa. It took some convincing to recruit Moriuchi Takahiro as the vocalist, but he eventually agreed. The band often practiced around one o’clock in the morning, as studio rentals were cheaper at that time, a detail that inspired their name, One Ok Rock, derived from “one o’clock.”
Between 2007 and 2009, the band released three albums, beginning with Zeitakubyo, which showed strong influence from Good Charlotte. Over the years, One Ok Rock gained steady recognition, performing at major music festivals across Japan. Their major breakthrough came with their sixth album, Jinsei×Boku=, released in March 2013. That same year, they embarked on their first international tour outside Asia.Today, One Ok Rock continues to produce hit songs featured in popular franchises such as Devil May Cry and Rurouni Kenshin. In 2025, they released their 11th studio album, Detox, which has already been certified Gold. You can listen to it now on One Ok Rock’s official YouTube channel.

Tiny Pieces
Detox (2025) by One Ok Rock
Wish I could forget how it felt when you said that it’s over
Staring at your lipstick on the wine glass by the sofa
Had the same fight 20 times in a night, I regret that
It’s not the first time that you left, it’s the first time you didn’t come back
That’s how I spend my days, it’s all I think about
This ain’t a dream, I’m stuck in a nightmare, get me out
‘Cause I’m broken, ain’t nobody gonna fix me (ooh-ooh-ooh)
And I’m choking on the pictures and the memories (ooh-ooh-ooh)
Every time I do it to myself, never seem to learn, now I’m crying for help
‘Cause I’m broken, ain’t nobody gonna fix me
Yeah, you broke me into tiny pieces (oh, oh)
I can see the ghost of your headlights fade as you drive away
Took the one thing that I can’t live without for a single day, oh, no
Had the same fight 20 times in a night, I regret that (I regret that)
It’s not the first time that I prayed, it’s the first time I prayed you come back, oh
‘Cause I’m broken, ain’t nobody gonna fix me (ooh-ooh-ooh)
And I’m choking on the pictures and the memories (ooh-ooh-ooh)
Every time I do it to myself, never seem to learn, now I’m crying for help
‘Cause I’m broken, ain’t nobody gonna fix me
Yeah, you broke me into tiny pieces
Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh
Yeah, you broke me into tiny pieces
Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh
That’s how I spend my days, it’s all I think about
This ain’t a dream, I’m stuck in a nightmare, get me out
Oh-oh, oh
‘Cause I’m broken, ain’t nobody gonna fix me (ooh-ooh-ooh)
And I’m choking on the pictures and the memories (ooh-ooh-ooh)
Every time I do it to myself, never seem to learn, now I’m crying for help
‘Cause I’m broken, ain’t nobody gonna fix me
Yeah, you broke me into tiny pieces
Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh
You broke me into tiny pieces
Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh
Oh yeah, you broke me into tiny pieces
